Digital strategy and creative production to help grow TikTok’s audience in Australia.

Over the past four years, TikTok has taken the world by storm. The platform's rapid rise has seen it rocket atop global App Store rankings unchallenged.

However, in Australia, TikTok had a challenge. While popular short-form dancing videos had driven early adoption amongst Gen Z’s and teenagers, TikTok’s platform offered so much more to audiences of all ages and interests. TikTok needed to shift Aussie’s perceptions of what they’d find on the platform.

Working with TikTok’s Global Growth team, We The People’s strategy and social video specialists developed an always-evolving creative production approach designed to bring content that users loved on TikTok to other digital platforms. We wanted to encourage exploration of the TikTok platform and, ultimately, convert users to download the app.

Leveraging real-time data from TikTok’s platform, we created over 20 original creative pieces each month, speaking to key trends and demographic interests on the platform.

THE OUTCOME

TikTok in Australia has grown to over 8 million monthly active users since 2020.
